Let’s be crystal clear … THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FREE SHIPPING.

Try going to your local UPS store or the post office to request free shipping. They’ll probably suggest you have a psychiatric evaluation first.

Free shipping has become a hallmark for many online megastores such as Amazon and Wallmart. But it’s a myth. It’s more about hiding shipping fees that actually offering free shipping. They can do this for any or all of the following reasons.

  • economy of scale means their costs for their raw materials (prints, framing, etc.) are dramatically lower than what is available to smaller companies
  • they tend to focus on the “one size fits all” model thereby reducing customer choice
  • their shipping volumes generates discounts that aren’t available to smaller companies

So while it’s nice to save a few bucks due to “free shipping”, the downside is that it serves to make smaller online shops uncompetitive. We have all heard the phrase “small business is the engine of the economy” but that engine is struggling to survive.

We strive to offer our customers the best products and service available. Everything is made on demand in the USA. Our finished products are carefully packaged and almost never become damaged in transit. We don’t try to hide or mask our shipping fees. They are added during the checkout process and the only variation in shipping fees depends on where the customer lives relative to our Arizona location.
